Squads

Squads are available on embrly.ca, and on self-hosted instances running in cloud mode.

A squad is a team on Emberly. Members upload into the squad's shared storage, and the squad can have its own upload token, API keys and custom domains. Public squads also get a page in Discovery, where people can find them and apply to join.

Create a Squad

Open Dashboard → Squads and click Create Squad.
Give it a name, and optionally a description, tagline and skills.
Choose how many members it can have, up to 20, and whether it's public in Discovery.

You become the squad's owner.

Members and Roles

Role	Can
Owner	Everything: edit the squad, invite and remove members, change roles, manage keys, domains and settings, delete the squad
Member	Upload, manage their own uploads, see members, post opportunities
Observer	View the squad and its members, without uploading

To invite someone, open the squad's Members tab and search for their username, or type their full email address. They get an email to accept. The owner can change a member's role or remove them from the same tab.

Uploading to a Squad

Files uploaded to a squad use the squad's storage, not yours. Upload with the squad's upload token or one of its API keys, from the squad's Uploads and API Keys tabs. They work exactly like your own in ShareX, Flicker or scripts, but upload into the squad.

Anyone with the squad's upload token or an API key can upload as the squad, so only share them with people you trust, and reset them if someone leaves.

Domains and Storage

Domains: add custom domains to the squad from its Domains tab. Squad uploads can use them in their links.
Storage: the Storage tab shows how much the squad has used and its limit. To ask for more, use a limit increase application.

Squads in Discovery

Public squads are listed in Discovery with their description, skills and links. Members can post opportunities, and people can apply to join. See Discovery.

Leaving a Squad

Members can leave from the squad page at any time.
